Le PHO BANH CUON 14 est l’un des incontournables du Quartier Chinois.
Ce restaurant exigu a connu son succès grâce à sa tenancière Madame Lan, Vietnamienne dont les succulents sandwichs Banh Mi attiraient un monde fou. Aujourd’hui, ce n’est plus elle qui tient le restaurant et quelques travaux ont permis de rajouter des tables et chaises pour faire face à l’affluence qui reste impressionnante sur le temps de midi. Le restaurant a été ouvert par les enfants des propriétaires du Lao Lane Xang, situé juste en face sur l’Avenue d’Ivry. Ambiance cantine et bon marché, il est toujours bondé, surtout le soir.
Le petit "hic" : Pas toujours champion du bon accueil ! Il varie en fonction des jours...Victime de son succès sans doute.
Bon à savoir : En cas de réservation, soyez ponctuel, les services s’enchainent et les places laissées libres ne le restent pas longtemps !
Comptez entre entre 9 et 11€ pour les soupes

Dans un cadre simple et moderne, vous aurez le choix entre les différents plats d’une longue carte. Nous recommandons particulièrement le Pho, plat national vietnamien, le riz à la cuisse de poulet marinée à la citronnelle, et pour les gros mangeurs, les nouilles fraîches sautées au bœuf (très bonnes mais qui remplissent vite le ventre...)

16 juillet 2009, par Pierre PinelliNous ne dirons jamais assez merci à ces restaurateurs qui nous prouvent que l’on peut mitonner une cuisine fraîche, variée, savoureuse et pas chère (la quadrature de l’assiette solutionnée !). C’est le cas de ce Foyer Vietnamien qui fait oublier les renoncements de la cuisine française - à l’heure où l’on parle de la classer au patrimoine de l’Unesco, ne serait-il pas plus urgent de s’employer à la défendre au quotidien en prenant exemple sur ces restos sans grade, ces tables de salubrité (…)
